Sylvia Doss is an Adjunct Faculty member teaching Benefits Strategy and Administration within the Graduate Human Resource Management program. She brings over 20 years of experience working with large, global companies in the development of health care and wellness strategies, which are focused on engagement, prevention, condition management and acute/catastrophic case management. Sylvia has held positions as an Underwriter and Account Executive for a major health plan, Benefits Director at a national financial firm, and Health and Welfare consultant for an international HR consulting firm. She has worked with many companies representing many different industries including Taft-Hartley trusts. Her experience has also included understanding and implementing policies that relate to employer provided health and welfare benefits including the interpretation and implementation of Federal health care reform legislation.
Sylvia is currently a Global Design Analyst with an international company. In her role she is involved in design and strategy for an employee population, which represents 26,000 employees and 50,000 retirees. When she is not working with employer populations, Sylvia engages with groups to improve their personal wellness including leading workshops in chronic condition management and leading a weekly spin class at her local YMCA.
Sylvia is a graduate of UCLA and received her MBA from Loyola Marymount University. She is an Adjunct Faculty member at Golden Gate University (San Francisco) teaching Corporate Benefits Strategy within the Graduate HR Management program.
