Tom Taylor (Ed.D., CCP, & CEBS) has more than 25 years of HR/Compensation and managerial
experience working for a variety of domestic and global organizations including UC
Berkeley, Lockheed Martin, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Barclays Global
Investors, CSAA, Digital Island/Exodus/Cable & Wireless/Savvis and Blue Shield of
California. In the role as a consultant, he provided project support to Blue Shield
of California, Hythiam Inc., Cable & Wireless, Seagate Technology, Vitex Systems,
Merritt Community Capital Corporation, San Francisco Transportation Agency, among
other organizations.
Tom is a member of the Bay Area Compensation Association (BACA) Steering Committee
and an adjunctive faculty member for Golden Gate University and International Technological
University teaching in the HR Masters degree programs. He published several articles
in compensation professional journals and earned a doctorate in Organization & Leadership
at the University of San Francisco. His dissertation covered the effectiveness of
cross-functional research teams at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Tom
also has a California Community College lifetime teaching credential and previously
taught pre-retirement planning at the San Francisco Community College and UC Berkeley
and his consulting service is certified as a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise
(DVBE) with the State of California.
He served his county in a combat tour of Viet Nam with the 101st Airborne Division
where he earned a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart and lives in San Franciscos Noe
Valley with his wife spending his free time running, cycling, swimming, golfing, traveling,
reading and cooking.
