Single Sign-On (SSO) is a new way of logging into applications and services that you use at GGU. SSO allows faculty, staff, and students to use one set of login credentials to access multiple applications. myGGU Portal is another name for the SSO system.
The release date of the new SSO/myGGU Portal system is Monday, October 28, 2019.
Students will receive an email with their SSO/myGGU Portal login credentials throughout the day on 10/28. It is important that students have the correct personal email on their student record.
Employees will automatically get access to the new SSO/myGGU Portal on 10/28 using their existing Windows login credentials. Is it important that staff/faculty/adjuncts have the correct ggu.edu email address, personal email, and cell phone number (if applicable) on their HR Employee record.
A Single Sign-On system is something that GGU students and employees have requested for a long time. The advantages of using a SSO are many and include:

If you are a student, SSO will give you access to eLearning Moodle, GGU4You, and the Library resources. In addition, students will automatically get a new student email account and access to MS Office 365 online products. The SSO will also introduce a new and improved Student Wireless System at the San Francisco campus. Additional student applications and resources will be added to the myGGU Portal at a later time.
If you are an employee, SSO will give you access to GGU4You and other online employee applications. Additional systems and resources will be added to the myGGU Portal at a later time.
All active students will receive a new @my.ggu.edu email address. Students who are already using the legacy @umail.ggu.edu email accounts will continue to have access to Umail for now. We encourage all students to start using their new @my.ggu.edu email accounts. With the introduction of the new student email system, all University-related email communication will be sent to the @my.ggu.edu accounts starting February 18th, 2020.
The GGU4YOU Intranet website will remain mostly as it is. However, it will now be one of the services you access through the myGGU Portal. Certain links or services on GGU4You might be moved onto the myGGU Portal landing pages.
Customization to the landing pages on the myGGU Portal are currently managed only by the Portal Administrators.

Yes, the myGGU Portal sessions automatically log you off after 30 minutes of inactivity for security reasons.
There is no restriction to the amount of open sessions you can have of the myGGU Portal. However, if you log off from one session, you will be logged off from all other open sessions as well.
There is a known exception with the eLearning Moodle platform that doesn't allow the session to log out even when a user has logged out of the myGGU Portal. For added security when using a public computer, please ensure to log out of your myGGU Portal and also close all open browser sessions.
Students who are also employees and have access to the eLearning Moodle system will be able to access their eLearning Moodle account through either, the student or the employee myGGU Portal login. Please note that there is only one Moodle account independently of how it is being accessed.
Yes, one of the benefits that currently registered students have is the ability to download the MS Office 365 desktop applications directly to their personal computers.
At present, GGU contractors/temps do not have login for the SSO/myGGU Portal. Please contact the ITS Service Desk at itservicedesk@ggu.edu if you have any questions accessing the GGU systems.
The GGU4You landing page can be defined on the GGU4You Profile page. If you have manually selected a landing page between the student and the employee roles, then your GGU4You login will also end up at that landing page, independently of how you login to your myGGU Portal. If you have not made a landing page selection on GGU4You, the default landing page will be the Student role, again, independently of using your student vs. your employee myGGU Portal account.
GGU has released a new Student wireless network. The network's name is GGU-Students and you have to be a GGU student to use it. Upon connecting to the GGU-Students wifi, please enter your myGGU Portal username and password. If you receive a message prompting you to Trust the website/certificate, please do so. That prompt should appear only during the first time setup.
