International Internship: Curricula

Golden Gate University's internship course engages students in a variety of activities to enrich the CRCC Asia internship program experience.


CURRICULA

Students participate in weekly activities that will include:
  • Skills Metrics Assessment (pre- and post-internship)
  • Reading assignments (on topics such as managing oneself and one's boss)
  • Micro lectures (on topics such as cross-cultural management, comparative leadership styles, Guanxi and networking)
  • Reflection papers based on personal internship experiences

At the end of the internship, students will complete a final paper, reflecting on the knowledge gained from their work in China as well as insights acquired through the course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The learning outcomes for the internship courses are aligned with CRCC internship experiences.

By the end of the internship, students will be able to:
  • Understand and assess the general history, political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental contexts of doing business in China.
  • Articulate and apply cross-cultural and inter-cultural management concepts and practices including leadership and networking.
  • Develop and demonstrate self-awareness, self-confidence, social responsibility and interpersonal skills in an international setting.
  • Discover and utilize real-word competencies, strategies, and skills for a specific profession or occupation, in an era of globalization.
