Claudia Giolitti was born in Caracas and graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela with a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychodynamic Psychology Concentration.In Caracas, she offered psychological evaluation and individual psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adultsat various public institutions, including mental health hospitals and a drug rehabilitation center.
In 2011, she moved to San Francisco with her husband to begin her graduate studies at GGU.Last year she started working at Instituto Familiar de la Raza, a Latino agency in the Mission District of San Francisco which embracesa philosophy of self-determination, community empowerment, and spiritual affirmation that Claudia has decided to follow in her future work as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She feels that her purpose as a Latina MFT living in the United States is to address, through the practice of a culturally appropriate psychotherapy, the complex problems of violence and social oppression.
