Douglas Cook is currently the Principal of Cook & Company. He has spent the past several years specializing in performing annual financial statement audits of 501(c)(3) public charities. He also chairs the Audit Committee of Old Adobe Developmental Services and has served as Treasurer of the Sequoia Audubon Society. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs. Douglas graduated from Dominican University of California with a B.A. in Business and completed his CPA coursework at University of California, Berkeley. He has also earned an M.P.A. from San Francisco State University. There he worked to create a self-designed emphasis in Nonprofit Finance and developed a passion for conducting research on nonprofit governance issues. His research on the California Nonprofit Integrity Act (S.B. 1262) placed first in the category of Business, Economics and Public Administration at the San Francisco State University 2010 Student Research Competition. He was also awarded a lifetime membership in Pi Alpha Alpha for exceptional academic achievement.
