Profiles: Steve Abitbol
The prospect of a better tomorrow fuels the hard work of today
Steve was born in Paris, France and relocated to the East Coast with his family when he was a teenager. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps and completed three combat tours in Iraq before deciding to attend GGU. Though his wife ultimately brought him to California, he had made the decision to apply to GGU while still living on the East Coast. Steve was impressed with the flexible course schedule and the ability to attend school while working full-time. He appreciates all the excellent services GGU provides to veterans and the numerous online course offerings.
His greatest challenge was readjusting to being a full-time student after taking a long break from his studies. As a new father of a beautiful 10-month-old baby girl named Lily Belle, he found that juggling work and personal responsibilities was particularly challenging. While this balancing act is demanding, Steve is ultimately motivated by his daughter and knows that all of his hard work will pay off in the future. Knowing that a diploma from GGU will help him better provide for his family helps him overcome any stress that work and school can bring.
Steve encourages anyone who is thinking about advancing their current level of education to simply jump in without hesitation.
"I have attended multiple colleges and universities due to relocation and I can tell you that GGU has some of the BEST professors and programs that will help you succeed no matter how hectic your life may be. Education is the one thing that no one can ever take from you and it is the one thing you can never get enough of! If you want to have a more stable and better, brighter future; GGU can and will take you there, all while helping to balance your busy life."
