Marie Bryant is the Director of Government, Public Interest & Litigation Advising and Adjunct Professor of Law. Marie advises students and alumni of the J.D., LLM, and SJD programs, with a focus on those students who are pursuing careers within the Public Sector in addition to facilitating the externship course.

Prior to joining Golden Gate University School of Law, Marie practiced in the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender and the McHenry Office County of the Public Defender where she represented indigent clients on a variety of criminal charges. During her time practicing, Marie conducted over 100 trials, more than 30 of which we jury trials. Her commitment to working with incarcerated people began long before her legal career. As an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Marie was a member of Prison Creative Arts Program where she facilitated theater and writing workshops for incarcerated men and juvenile girls.

Marie received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and J.D. from The John Marshall School of Law. She is a member of both the California and Illinois State Bar.
