Pete Sherwood has been a Circuit Mediator with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals since 2000. Prior to that time he was a mediator and lawyer in private practice in San Francisco and Marin counties, primarily handling commercial, real property and personal injury disputes.

He is a part time, paid Pro Tem Commissioner for the San Francisco Superior Court, where he sat as a judge in Traffic and Small Claims Courts. He worked for six years as in-house counsel for Security Pacific Leasing Corporation in the mid-1980's and early 1990's, doing commercial litigation, bankruptcy and workouts, general corporate and transactional work. Mr. Sherwood is a 1978 graduate of Hastings College of the Law and received an LLM in Tax from Golden Gate University in 1985. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1973.
