Federal Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the basic federal application for consideration for all forms of financial aid. Be sure to list Golden Gate University as a recipient of the data in Step 6; our federal Title IV School Code is 001205. To file the FAFSA 2011-12 online, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov.

You must also complete a Golden Gate University Financial Aid Application. This short form will help us better assist you with your financial planning by gathering basic personal, academic and program information. Please pay careful attention to the section requesting number of units you will take.

Scholarships

Download the appropriate application form and return it according to the instructions on the form.

• Academic Excellence (no longer requires a scholarship application) - This scholarship is for undergraduates and it is awarded upon admission to GGU.
• Graduate Community Leadership
• Other scholarships are by invitation which may be based on GPA, Need, Major course of study and/or other specific criteria

Employer Assistance Program

For the corporate reimbursement plan, first sign up at www.afford.com or call 1-800-722-4867. Then download and complete the Corporate Reimbursement form, have it signed by your employer and return it to Student Financial Services as indicated on the form.

For Corporate/Agency Direct Billing download and complete the Corporate/Agency Direct Bill Authorization form, have it signed by your employer and return it to Student Financial Services as indicated on the form.

GGU Community (Employee, Adjunct, Graduates and Family) Tuition Grants

These tuition grant programs are available to eligible employees, graduates and their families. Students must meet the grant eligibility criteria and be admitted to a program of study in the School of Business, Accounting, Taxation or Undergraduate Programs or otherwise be eligible for open enrollment. Programs offered by the School of Law are not included. Grants are applied to tuition only and are renewable providing the student continues to satisfy the eligibility criteria. Students who accept the GGU Employee Educational Assistance Remission or any other GGU grant, discount or scholarship are not eligible. Students who become ineligible during a term will be permitted to complete the current term but will not be eligible for future terms. Students will be required to submit a separate tuition grant application to the financial aid office. Grant applications are available GGUCommunityTuitionAssistanceGrants or from the financial aid office.

The grants are as follows:

Regular Full time Faculty and Staff Family Tuition Grant - Members of the immediate family defined as a spouse, domestic partner, child, step-child, grandchild, parent, grand-parent and sibling of regular full time faculty and staff and who do not qualify for or choose to decline the GGU Employee Educational Assistance program are eligible for a 40 per cent tuition grant. This program will begin with the Fall term 2011.

Regular Adjunct Faculty Family Tuition Grant - Members of the adjunct faculty's family defined as a spouse, domestic partner, child and step-child are eligible for a 30 per cent tuition grant.. Regular adjunct faculty are defined as active adjuncts who have taught a minimum of three class-sections in the previous three academic years. Active for the purposes of this grant means eligible to continue to teach. (Adjunct faculty, themselves who do not qualify for or choose to decline the GGU Employee Educational Assistance program are eligible for this grant.) This program will begin with the Spring term 2012.

Graduates Tuition Grant - Graduates of GGU degree programs are eligible for 30 per cent tuition grant. For the purpose of this grant, a graduate is defined as an individual who has received a degree from GGU. Students who have received only a GGU certificate are not eligible. This program will begin with the Fall term 2011.

Graduates Family Tuition Grant - Members of a graduate's family defined as a spouse, domestic partner, child and step-child are eligible for a 20 per cent tuition grant. For the purpose of this grant, a graduate is defined as an individual who has received a degree from GGU. This program will begin with the Spring term 2012.
