Golden Gate University has elected Benson Lu to its Board of Trustees. Lu brings more than 20 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, and emerging technology investment, and joins as GGU expands its global footprint and deepens its focus on artificial intelligence.

After years in technology and enterprise consulting, Dr. Smrite Goudhaman earned her DBA from GGU to better understand how people adapt to AI in the workplace. Today, she designs AI systems for global organizations and brings those real-world lessons into the classroom as a member of GGU’s faculty in India.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie celebrated GGU’s Class of 2026 at commencement, recognizing the university’s enduring ties to the city and its leadership in preparing students for the future of work. He encouraged graduates to stay grounded in the needs of the people and communities they serve.
